Its constantly living on the edge - as I surf down a wave at 19 knots in a gust, while punching out The Log on this keyboard, below deck. Lucky to be living.
I am a wave of the sea And the foam of the wave Amd the wind of the foam And the wings of the wind Above deck the moonbeams are bouncing off the waves. Earlier off the Canaries we had 29 knots gusts of wind and went dangerosuly close to a fishing boat. He had no AIS. Now its dark and, while still close to the islands, I have all the decklights on - and the strop atop of the mast flashing - a bit early, but we're like a Chritmas tree - just want no chances. Soon it will be safer in the deep ocean` Its been a tough 24 hours. A sail would not foil properly so I opted to take it down and had to go the wrong side and it went in the water. It was a struggle. Also the 2nd reef line broke - it will be a challenge to fix., To boot, the port hydro generator holding bolt came undone - and I got it back on board in time beofre any damage. There is alway something buts thats the life on the ocean wave My soul's in the salt of the sea In the weight of the wave In the bubbles of foam In the ways of the wind
